Unique bike experience
One bike, many trails, endless fun
Brakes, pads and tyres checked, spare tube, tools and water bottle packed: Storm right up to the alpine hut to enjoy the delicious Grossarltal food. Then speed down into the valley, experiencing some dramatic ups and downs along the way. Young and old, casual cyclists to competitive athletes – there’s a tailor-made tour for everyone in the Grossarltal. The best thing about it? The Living Central in Austria is situated directly on the bike routes.
On your bike, get set, go!
More fun with adrenaline
The Grossarltal offers around 140 kilometres of signposted and marked bike trails with an altitude difference of 300 to 1,000 metres per tour. It’s enough to get your pulse racing. For pleasure cyclists and families, the valley cycle path directly on the Grossarler Ache or a tour to the traditional alpine pastures makes an ideal bike excursion.
The ‘single trail Großarltal’ opened in the summer of 2017 – the valley’s first downhill trail. The strenuous ascent can be easily avoided by taking the 8-person Hochbrand cable car. From the top station, the 3.3-kilometre stretch leads to the bottom station. It impresses both touring bikers and enduro riders. The cable car runs from Friday to Monday from 9:00 a.m. to midday and from 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm from July. It does not run when it rains.
